May I introduce myself?
That's me: Dek.
I'm in my 50s, originally from Newcastle, England now living in Switzerland.
My most drawn style is comic, many of my subjects are monsters or punks. But…😅 I have my "landscape-moments", too.
...which maybe shows in my art.
I love going to gigs. My taste of music is inspired by bands like th UK Subs, The Exploited, The Casualties, Agnostic Front, Amyl and the Sniffers and Rancid just to name a few.
I've always found inspiration through brousing record shops. Not only for the music, but also for the album cover arts. Get yourself inspired by the works of Alan Forbes (who contributed some cover artwork to AFI, Electric Frankenstein etc.), Jonny Ace, Brian Romero and Simon Bisley. Another great artist to me is Ed Roth with his Rat Fink or Brian Bolland, especially for his Judge Dredd artworks.
I draw and paint in bright, rich colors. Posca markers, Molotow markers and paint and the Alphakrylik paint from Alpha6Corporation work best for me. But depending on my goal I also use Faber-Castell and Crayola pencils.
